A warm welcome to Greenwood Counselling

A space for you and what is important to you

Welcome, to my website.  I am Amanda, a qualified and experienced counsellor.

Please take a look at my site as this will help you decide if I am the right counsellor for you.  After all, its a big step to see a counsellor and start working towards feeling better.

A bit about me:

I am a person centred integrative counsellor which means I work with you to help you become the best version of yourself.  I offer a flexible approach that adapts to working with you.  We are two human beings talking together where I get to understand you and the world from your perspective.  My approach is non-judgemental and caring.

Whilst I am a qualified counsellor, my learning is ongoing and I regularly attend personal development courses to help me support you better.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within their code of ethics for best practice.  My practice is fully supervised and insured.

Why come to counselling ?

Talking is very powerful and can be very helpful.  As a trained professional, I will actively listen and respond to you with empathy in a confidential space.  Supporting you with trust, dignity and respect so you feel heard as we make sense of what you bring and I support you through your present difficulties.  We work with what comes up during each session, this is an open ended space to explore what comes up.  Together we build the picture/story that helps you make sense of it, giving you a clearer sense of yourself in the world and in your relationships.  You are not alone.

I work with anxiety, depression, family issues, affairs and betrayals, feeling sad, separation and divorce, work-related stress and much more.

My Fees

I charge £50 for a 50 minute session

Concessions for keyworkers and  trainee counsellors

An experienced counsellor

I worked at a local secondary school counselling students.  Students came to me with for example anxiety, academic worries, pressures of materialism, social networking and body image.  I have also worked for Family Action where I counselled vulnerable mothers.  Many had experienced domestic violence, drug use and relationship breakdowns.

I also worked as a counsellor for Rape Crisis counselling survivors of sexual violence.  I worked with amongst others PTSD, dissociation, low self esteem, fear and guilt and anxiety.

I hope to hear from you soon with what you need to bring to counselling.
